On Monday, April 9, the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) will be hosting the 4th annual Wisconsin Youth Institute. At this event high school students from Wisconsin will share information and have their submitted papers judged to move forth with attending the World Food Prize in Des Moines, Iowa. The World Food Prize is considered the “Nobel Prize for Food and Agriculture.”
CALS needs volunteers to:
- Serve as panelists for the student paper presentations
- Observe student presentations and provide feedback and rankings
- Participate in an exploration fair that provides hands-on workshops or displays that the students will partake in to offer a flavor of the research and activity in CALS
- Be a quick tour stop where you can highlight a particular building or activity while students and their guests are given a tour of the CALS campus
If you are interested in participating, please complete the survey at cals.wisc.edu/wisconsinyouthinstitute/. Presentations will be given in the morning, the tour just before lunch, and the exploration stations between 12:30 and 2 p.m.
