Louise Roeck Holz Scholarship

The son of German immigrants, Earl K. Holz (1930-2011) was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating in 1952 from the University of Wisconsin—Madison with a BS in Engineering, Mr. Holz was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1956, and then earned a Masters Degree in Metallurgy from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1964. During his career, Mr. Holz was employed as a metallurgical engineer by Aluminum Company of America, Vulcan Materials and Wabash Alloys. Throughout his life, Mr. Holz was a faithful and passionate Badger fan who was proud to call the University of Wisconsin his alma mater. His mother, Louise, was a homemaker and would have been interested in the foods and nutrition curriculum in the Nutritional Sciences department. This scholarship was set up in memory of her.
