March is National Nutrition Month
National Nutrition Month® is promoted annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The theme for 2020 is Eat Right, Bite by Bite. The campaign is encouraging everyone to make small changes in their diets to have a bigger impact on health over time. This approach is also encouraged by the US Dietary Guidelines, which encourages “shifts” we can make to edge towards a healthier eating pattern. We might take bites of an apple instead of bites of a cookie for our afternoon snack, or shift from a sugar-sweetened beverage (soda or sweetened tea) with lunch to water or unsweetened tea. Try a bite or a shift for a few weeks, and then try another. Bite by bite, shift by shift, we can get there.
