Dr. William F. Lorenz, a UW professor of neuropsychiatry, was the first director of the Wisconsin Psychiatric Institute in Mendota State Hospital. This award, for Nutritional Sciences students, is in honor and remembrance of his wife Ada (Holt) Lorenz.

Awarded to undergraduates majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics upon recommendation by the Department of Nutritional Sciences.
