“Getting involved in NS department research allowed me to not only form relationships that turned into supportive mentors, but for the first time I was able to make the connection on the work and process that goes into creating evidence based recommendations and guidelines. I developed analytical skills that would serve me long after I moved on. Finally, completing the dietetic internship (and working as an RD!) helped me not only cement my nutrition knowledge, but better understand the healthcare system as a whole and become that much more efficient, proficient, and compassionate in the things I did later.”
